Email Illustrations

Email can be hard to read—literally. David Shipley and Will Schwalbe covered it all in their book Send: The Essential Guide to Email for Home and Office (Knopf, 2007). Email is great, but it’s difficult to convey tone (was that a sarcastic remark or not?), and your private rant about the CEO could easily be forwarded to the entire company. When David and Will hired me to design a PowerPoint to accompany their book tours, I created a clean set of illustrations to help tell the story. There’s nothing I like better than figuring out how to get a bland icon to emote.
